2014 Reunion Update- July 17 thru 20 2014

I received some exciting news from Ron Williams this weekend.  The 2014 USS Franklin Reunion venue has been selected!  The 2014 reunion will be at:

The dates will be July 17-20.  The room rate is $99/night single and double occupancy plus tax. The February mailing of the news letter will have more details.

In the mean time you can contact the even host, Ron Williams, at ron.williams@ussfranklin.org for more information. Ron and family are hosting the reunion in honor of their father, Franklin crew member Jim Lyons.

  1. Can someone Please Make sure My father William J Nott receives the newsletter in Febuary 2014 I intend on bringing him to the reunion in July 2014 in Norfolk if he is still with us. He will turn 90 in April 2014 and has been physically challenged over the past few years, but mentally very sharp! Happy Veterans day to all Franklin survivors and their Families Mike Nott

  2. My father who was in the naval was an aviation mechanist. He was on the USS Franklin when it was hit off the coast of Japan in 1945. His name is Gerald Edward Scannell. My father died October 2006 but he and my mother attended a lot of reunions in the past. I would like to know if a daughter (myself) and my son can attend any of the events planned for July 2014 reunion.

    My name is Janet Scannell Kenney. I was born July 10, 1947. My father spoke to me about his experiences on the USS Franklin and the attack. He had viedo footage of the attack. It changed his life.
