COOKS who served on the USS Franklin. Looking for a one of the the cooks on the USS Franklin who was African American who save my dad’s life in one of the battles. My father’s name is John William Gray, Gunners Mate 1st Class. He pulled my dad from the water after being blown off the ship. My dad was born January 11, 1926. Would love the opportunity to find out more information about the cook that saved my dad. Thank you so much for your time, we have been trying for years and have hit a dead end.
