Rene Narcisse Gauthier

September 7, 1925 – March 28, 2016

Rene Narcisse Gauthier, 90, was born in Manville, Rhode Island, to Cleophas and Antoinette Lamoureux Gauthier. He enlisted in the United States Navy at age 18 in 1943 and served in the Pacific aboard USS Franklin. Rene survived the devastating attack on the carrier and was a member of the 704 Club. The USS Franklin roster lists him as F1/c, SVV-6 USNR.

After the war, Rene worked for Corning Glass, General Motors, Martin Marietta, and Kaman Aircraft, where he served as a buyer and purchasing agent. He maintained a lifelong interest in politics and participated in the Republican Town Committee in Plainville, Connecticut.
